About the Studio

My experience with teaching goes back a number of years to when I was a Masters student at Yale University. As a student I was heavily involved in the Yale School of Music's Music in Schools Initiative which sent Yale graduate music students out into the community to work with beginners, inner-city students and experienced musicians alike. Since then I have taught at all levels, from age 10 to age 80, and have enjoyed every minute of it. From teaching a beginner's first notes to helping a high school senior prepare for college auditions, my goal as a private teacher is to share a love of music that will last a lifetime.

Studio Schedule

My lesson schedule is fairly flexible throughout the school year. I'll work with the student and parent to decide on a schedule that works for the both of us, whether that means a set time and day each week, or a flexible schedule that varies weekly.

New students are accepted throughout the school year. Please contact me to inquire about lesson availability and pricing.

Location

My studio is located at my home in Alexandria, VA, near the Huntington Metro Station. Parents and students are welcome to wait in my living room and can help themselves to the television, Wi-Fi, books, and magazines.

Another option for teaching is for me to come to you. For an added travel cost I am willing to travel 30 minutes from my house to teach a student, and only ask that you provide a well-lit and spacious room with space for two chairs and a music stand. This is a good option for busy families or families with limited transportation options.
